Updated For 2026!

Your 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball Bracket Pool Tracker is here! This tracker was created in response to a request to simplify bracket tracking with our March Madness Bracket Spreadsheet Template. While it’s not fully automated, it should help you stay organized and keep tabs on your pool with less hassle.

Whether you're managing an office pool, tracking friendly bets, or just love March Madness, we've built an easy-to-use spreadsheet for Excel or Google Sheets. We know there are tons of downloadable brackets out there, but our sheets contain specialized features designed by spreadsheet addicts for a superior tracking experience.

What's New in 2026

We've focused on usability this year by adding basic Data Validation to the fields. This prevents entry errors and ensures that your pool scoring remains accurate throughout the tournament. The layout is optimized to handle a large volume of participants while remaining easy to read at a glance.

How to Use Your Tracker

  1. Download: Select your preferred format (Google Sheets or Excel) from the links below.
  2. Participant Entry: List your participants and their corresponding bracket picks in the designated columns.
  3. Update Results: As games conclude, enter the winners into the master results sheet.
  4. Automatic Scoring: Watch as the standings table updates to show which participant is currently leading your pool.

Secure Your Pool Standings

To ensure your pool standings are preserved and easily shareable with your group, we recommend exporting your tracker as a PDF at the end of each tournament weekend. In Google Sheets, navigate to File > Download > PDF Document (.pdf). For a clean look, remember to toggle off "Show gridlines" before exporting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the March Madness bracket?

The bracket is for one person's picks. This tracker is for pool organizers who need to score multiple people's brackets from one spreadsheet. It compares everyone's picks against actual results and ranks them.

How many participants can the tracker handle?

As many as your pool needs. Each person's picks go in their own section, and the scoring dashboard handles the rest. Add rows as needed.

How does the scoring work?

Enter actual tournament results in the master bracket. The tracker checks every participant's picks against those results and awards points, with later rounds worth more to reward deep-tournament accuracy.

Does this include data validation to prevent errors?

We added dropdown menus and validation rules so only valid team names can be entered. When you are managing picks from a big group, that keeps typos from messing up the scores.

Can I share the standings with my pool?

On Google Sheets, share a view-only link so people can check their ranking without editing anything. For Excel, export the standings as a PDF after each round and send it to the group.
