The 2026–27 FCS Football Championship features a 24-team playoff field, with the top eight seeds receiving first-round byes. The remaining 16 teams compete in the opening round, with the winners advancing to join the eight bye teams in the second round.

The official 24-team field will be announced on November 22, 2026, with the first round beginning on November 28, 2026 and the national championship scheduled for January 11, 2027.
