The 2026–27 College Football Playoff (CFP) features a 12-team field competing for the national championship. The four highest-seeded teams receive first-round byes, while seeds No. 5 through No. 12 compete in four First Round games.
The winners advance to the Quarterfinals to face the four teams that received byes. From there, the field is reduced to four semifinalists and ultimately two teams competing in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
